About The Event
Themed Living with the Port: Safety, Livelihoods, and Shared Responsibility in Lamu’s Maritime Space, the workshop will be delivered in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend in person in Lamu or join virtually online.
The session will convene representatives from government, maritime authorities, industry, civil society and coastal communities to explore practical approaches to strengthening port safety, climate resilience and inclusive participation as Lamu Port continues to grow. Discussions will focus on operational safety, emerging maritime technologies and fuels, climate risks to port infrastructure and workers, and opportunities for local communities, youth and SMEs within evolving maritime value chains.
