‘Business Ambition for 1.5°C’ is an urgent call to action, led by a global coalition of UN agencies, business and industry leaders. We’re calling on companies to commit to ambitious emissions reduction targets through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). By setting a science-based target in line with a 1.5°C future, businesses can make their critical and necessary contribution to limiting the worst impacts of climate change. So far, 324 companies, representing over $3.6 trillion in market cap, have responded to the open letter and signed the Business Ambition for 1.5°C commitment.
Companies that commit to join Business Ambition for 1.5°C before December 1st 2020 will be recognized in an announcement by the High-Level Climate Champion’s “Race to Zero” campaign that features all “Business Ambition for 1.5°C” companies. Committed companies will also be featured in the High-Level Meeting of Caring for Climate on 8 December.
